During the era of Mestre's first industrialization, between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, factories and commercial infrastructures sprang up on both banks. In 1907-8, approximately halfway along the waterway, an orthogonal dock was dug to serve the cotton warehouses. Today, this area is flanked by the new Viale Ancona, which overlooks a modern hotel and a dock for private boats.
The building on which the Hotel Guidi was built was constructed between 1930 and 1940, but it was only renovated and converted into a hotel in 1983. Since then, numerous renovations and modernizations have been carried out to make the facility efficient and functional, able to adequately meet the needs of its guests.
